FAQ's

Fiber cement siding, vinyl siding, insulated vinyl siding, which is simply vinyl siding with some added benefits, and James Hardie® fiber cement siding. Hardie board is known as the top-tier of all fiber cement siding materials, and for professionals, there is no mistaking James Hardie cement siding. We can provide whichever works best for you and your home – and if you are not sure, we can discuss the options during our free consultation to come up with the best option based on your needs and price point.

There are obvious signs that it is time to replace the siding in your home which include; cracks and gaps, holes made by insects or birds, warping, rotting, mold, or any interior moisture coming through. These are all issues that can not be ignored, and you know it’s time to install new siding.

Less obvious reasons to install new siding – do you feel a draft or extra heat coming through specific walls or windows? Additional insulation or new siding could be the answer.  It can provide better protection from the elements as well as a reduction in energy costs caused by the lack of insulation.

Are you happy with the curb appeal of your home or are you looking to put your home up for sale? It might be time for a new look. New siding will provide an upgraded look, more curb appeal and can improve the resale of your home. The thought of spending money on new siding may make you pause, but can significantly boost the resale price of your home.

We can work with you to determine the best type of siding for your home. We will sit down with you during our free consultation and go through the benefits, features and cost of each. There are quite a few options, styles and colors to choose from. Once it is all laid out in front of you we are confident that together, we can choose the best option for you and your needs.

It depends on a few factors, such as the size and style of your home as well as the type of siding you choose. On average, it takes about two weeks from start to finish. We take great care in our work, pay attention to detail and want to ensure it is done correctly and to your satisfaction. The two weeks includes the prep work, adding insulation, installation, painting (only if needed), and then the clean up.

Again, it depends on the type of siding you choose, but we will go over those details in the consultation before you decide on the siding material for your home.  We want to ensure it is something you are comfortable with. Overall, any of the options we offer are low maintenance and easy to clean, some even more so than others. All of the siding choices we offer hold their look and color for many years to come with relatively little maintenance involved.

No! While installing siding can technically be done on your own, we highly discourage it, as do most professionals. If siding is not installed properly by a skilled professional, your home risks damage in the long run. Poorly installed siding can result in trapped moisture – leading to rot, mold and breakage, among other things.  If installed correctly, siding is not prone to any of these issues.

This is a very important question, and one that can easily be answered on the free consultation. It depends greatly on many factors: Size and style of the home, siding material chosen, removal of old siding (if needed) and any trim or painting done. The total price is broken down by cost per square foot of material and the cost of labor. For example, vinyl siding can cost anywhere from $1-$8 per square foot, and installation can range anywhere from $2,000 – $16,000.  We will work with you to find what fits best in your budget and meets your needs.
